JODY WILLIAMSON-VALENTINE

Jody Williamson-Valentine is enjoying a lifetime career in the arts. A Broadway singing contract was left behind to pursue the drawing board. She currently specializes in illustration, graphic, and canvas art, photography, along with textile and needlepoint design.


A former Graphic Design Consultant and marketing specialist for R.A. Williamson, Dimensional Communications and W.A. Displays, Rochester, NY, she was instrumental in the development and execution of many graphics, models, covers and layouts upon customer requests.


Jody is President and Owner of JODY DESIGNS, Inc (Design company) and JODY DIRECT, Inc. (Retail sales). Her expansive talents have developed over 600 textile needlepoint designs with distribution wholesale and retail sales along with traveling trunk shows across the entire United States. Jody creates the entire graphic and photography art for both companies, which are featured in numerous trade and national magazines.


As an award winning graphic artist, Jody designed the 2008 Corn Hill Arts Festival 40th year Commemorative Poster Edition, Rochester, NY and a Christmas textile design for The White House.

While a textile instructor she developed curriculum and taught courses on needlepoint technique, canvas painting and advanced application for almost 20 years at The Rochester Museum and Science Center, Rochester, NY. Jody is a Charter featured writer for Needlepoint Now Magazine since the Premier Issue in 1999.

Jody is a strong Rochester, NY supporter with significant volunteer affiliations:

  • The Rochester Memorial Art Gallery, top fund raiser and Charter member of the Gold Diggers Club for top fund raisers and a  former member of The Rochester Memorial Art Gallery Women's Council.

  • For The Junior League of Rochester as a member she coordinated various events including, The Decorator Show Houses and The Haunted Houses.

  • As a member of the Rochester Museum and Science Center Women's Council, she promoted publicity and production of products. Designing the Council's Cookbooks - layouts, coordination, graphics, artwork and illustrations and Heirloom Discovery Days.

  • Jody also was Co-coordinator of Channel WXXI's Art Auction


  •  Rochester General Hospitals Art and Flower Shows.

  • Active in her town, she enjoyed being the Co-coordinator for the Brighton Art Festival and  also helped to coordinate and design  the town of Brighton's Sesquicentennial Celebration.
